Halda Ray "Red" Roberts passed away November 1, 1997.

He was born April 21, 1909, to Hyrum Ray and Alice Rene Manning Roberts. He married Amy LaVerne McOmie April 28, 1933, in Murray, Utah. She preceded him in death on January 12, 1995.Our father is survived by a son, Neil L. (Barbara) Roberts, and a daughter, Nancy Ann (Ilyn) Garrick, all of Orem. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother, Leatha Cleone Allen of Layton, NaDean Gee of Springville and Blaine Roberts of Downey, California.

Halda Ray better known as "Red or Bill" throughout his life was very active in minor league baseball in the late 1920's and 1930's establishing several hitting and fielding records during those years. "Red" worked for Utah Power and Light for nearly 44 years retiring as a supervisor in 1972.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Sharon First Ward Chapel, 641 South 400 East, Orem. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 600 East 800 North, Orem, and Thursday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial, Lehi City Cemetery.
