Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Betty Gay Windley Young, age 66, passed away November 3, 1997 in Salt Lake City.

Born July 17, 1931 in Garden City, Utah, daughter of George Rue and Josephine Snyder Windley. Graduated from Payson High School. Married Byron Albert Young July 21, 1949 in the Manti LDS Temple. Devoted member of the LDS Church serving in many callings including Primary teacher, Relief Society Mother Education and Spiritual Living teacher, and in the Relief Society presidency. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. Betty loved all children unconditionally and they loved her. She taught us all through her example how to truly love and care for others.Her legacy of love and enthusiasm for life will abide with us forever. We look forward to being together as a family forever.

Survived by her husband, Byron, West Jordan; children, Terry (Karla) Young, West Valley City; Steve (Sheri) Young, South Jordan; Susan (Knut) Carter, West Jordan; Joan (Kevin) Gust, Riverton; Allison (Mike) Richardson, Salt Lake City; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Windley, Silver Springs, Maryland; Jack Windley, Springville; Lawrence Windley, Payson; sister, Mary Reynolds, Payson. Preceded in death by son, Sterling; brother, Fred Windley.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Mountain View 6th Ward, 8435 South 2700 West. Friends may call Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at the McDougal West Jordan Mortuary, 1861 West 7800 South and Thursday at the church, 9-9:45 a.m. Interment, Payson Cemetery.
