Florence Ayers Stevens passed away on November 1, 1997.
She was born in Provo, Utah to Heber M. and Hilma Pearson Ayers, November 26, 1922. She was raised in Provo and attended the schools there. She met her sweetheart, Curtis Stevens, while attending Provo High. They were married January 3, 1942 and were later sealed in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. Curt passed away July 6, 1993. In 1949 they moved to Mt. Air in Salt Lake City, where they raised their three sons. Florence was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in many positions. She enjoyed being a den mother and working in the PTA. She also worked part-time at Pennys in the Cottonwood Mall for many years. She loved her family very much and enjoyed being with them. She enjoyed reading and always had a book in progress. She loved animals and was concerned about their welfare.Florence leaves behind her three sons, David (Shonnie) Stevens; Brian Stevens; Robert (Carol) Stevens, all of Salt Lake City; three grandchildren, Chad Stevens; Jennifer (Gary) Miller of Sandy; Little Paul Stevens of Salt Lake City; three great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Ellie Miller and Nathan Stevens of Sandy; one sister, Bessie A. Johnson, Marysville, CA.; and her three cats, Pandora, Samantha, and Henry.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 1997 at 1 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT, where friends may call Wednesday, from 11:30 to 12:45 pm. Instead of flowers, Florence asked that those wishing to do so should send a contribution to the Humane Society of Utah. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
