Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all, passed away November 2, 1997 in Salt Lake City after many months of pain and suffering due to cancer at the age of 78.

Born September 25, 1919 in Salt Lake City to Ernest and Bertha Deans, the youngest of three. She graduated from South High and married George D. Opoulos in 1939. She was a devoted wife and mother of three.Elaine and her husband, George, were camp host and hostess at Moon Lake for many years, where they met many friends. She enjoyed camping, visiting with friends and making new ones, and looked forward to going there every summer. She also loved holidays, her grandchildren and Sunday dinners with family. She was a generous, warm, loving woman who always thought of others first. Through her illness, she never complained or lost her sense of humor. She touched so many lives and is loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Survived by her husband, George; her sons, Thomas (Pat); Von; David (Becky); her brother, Leslie; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Her parents and sister preceded her in death.

The family empresses many thanks to Mary-Ellen and Rayola with Vista Care, who helped make her final days as pleasant as possible.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 So., where friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
