The Salt Lake County Commission is scheduled to make a decision Wednesday on whether to relax various restrictions on billboard height, location and style in the county's unincorporated areas.
Reagan Outdoor Advertising made the request, which is on appeal to the commission from a rejection from the county Planning Commission. The commission held a public hearing on the matter Oct. 15 in which numerous residents spoke in opposition to the change. Opponents say relaxing restrictions would do nothing more than increase the number and size of billboards. Reagan representatives say the ordinance change would allow them more flexibility to renovate existing billboards and say the number of billboards wouldn't go up.
Wednesday's hearing is at 8:30 a.m., County Commission Chambers, 2001 S. State St.
