Get those taste buds ready.

You'll want them in top form Thursday evening, Nov. 6, when the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Holiday Auction and Heavenly Desserts Gala fund raising event. The gala, which will feature desserts prepared by many of the chamber's top member-restaurants and a handful of local free-lance chefs, will begin at 7 p.m. on the third-floor mezzanine at West Jordan City Hall.

Former boxing great Gene Fullmer is preparing some heavyweight fare and Salt Lake County Commissioner Mary Callaghan will whip up something official.

And West Jordan Mayor Max Hogan has promised to show up with something edible but he's not sure exactly what.

In additional to sampling the goodies, gala-goers will have an opportunity to bid on a number of items including tickets to Jazz and Grizzlies games.

Also on the auction block will be a wedding cake, a floral arrangement, a hand-made quilt, recreational getaway packages and a trip to the tire store for an alignment, rotation and balancing.

Admission is free. All proceeds from the auction will go to the chamber to help update office equipment and fund programs.
