Lawrence T. Dahl died at home in Salt Lake City on Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, age 92.
Born August 28, 1905 in Midvale, UT. to David T. and Amanda P. Dahl. He graduated from Jordan High School and attended Utah State University. He went on an LDS mission to the Eastern States and was always involved in church service. He married Lois Gardner in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 25, 1932. She preceded him in death in 1993. He was a dry farmer for most of his life and farmed in Utah and Idaho. He lived in West Jordan, UT. for 50 years where he was bishop, stake president and was the first elected mayor of the city. In his later years he was a tour guide on Welfare Square.Survived by five sons, Ted (Eileen), Peoria, IL; James G. (Trish), Dallas, TX; Dick, Boise, ID; Keith (Marlene), Salt Lake; Dennis (Elizabeth), Los Angeles, CA; two daughters, Pat (Ed) Miller, Denver, CO; and Marian (Larry) Doman, Ogden, UT; 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Dahl, Deeth, NV.; sister, Beth Danysh, Beverly Hills, CA. Preceded by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 7, 1997, 12 noon at the Monument Park 9-11th Ward, 1565 Foothill Drive. Friends may call Thurs. evening, Nov. 6th from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South and Friday morning from 10:30-11:45 a.m at the church. Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
