George Eli Price, 82, died peacefully at home on November 3, 1997.

He was born near Durango at Pinkerton Springs, Colorado on August 30, 1915 to Thomas and Rosa Reed Price.He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Free Masons Kaibab Lodge #25.

Grandpa loved feeding his backyard birds, especially the neighborhood blue jays who recognized his "call for breakfast". He was a man of wit, determination, and great kindness. His enduring good humor has sustained his family through the past year of caring for him during his illness.

George is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Hodges Price; two daughters, Peggy Burch (Vernon) of Loveland, Colorado and Susan Morgan (George) of Clifton Park, New York; a son, Steven Price of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Wright of Long Beach, California. George was preceded in death by his parents and brother Thomas "Jack" Price.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 1997 in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Vista Section). Friends may call on Thursday from 11:45 - 12:45 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive prior to services.

Instead of sending flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
