Voters chose Noell Nelson, a current member of the Bluffdale City Council, as their new mayor.

They also elected two new council members, Colleen Bliss and Rod Park. The pair will replace Sheila Heaton and Ralph Mettmann, who chose not to run again.Mayor Lee Wanless, who was defeated in the primary, won 149 write-in votes in Tuesday's election. He trailed both Nelson, who received 444 votes, and Wayne Mortimer, who got 338.

Nelson has served on the council since 1978, Mortimer is a manager for Deseret Industries.

Bliss, a teacher who served about eight years on the city planning commission, and Park, a retired teacher, were also the top finishers in the primary.

They beat Keith Nicholson and Dave White again Tuesday, although Nicholson came within 22 votes of a second-place finish.

Bliss finished with 533 votes; Park with 450; Nicholson with 428; and White with 391.
