Incumbent Mayor Janice Galbraith, who was appointed to fill a mayoral vacancy in August when the previous mayor moved out of town, was elected with 554 votes over opponent Arley Wallace's 353 votes.

The combination of council resignations, the death of one council member, and the regular schedule of offices up for election meant that no matter how the election turned out, only one City Council member, Jim Bridges, would retain his original office.Incumbent Councilman Max C. Hill, who was appointed after another council member died in April, was elected to a four-year term with 452 votes. Also running in the four-person race was Carl V. Clayton, who won a four-year term with 443 votes. Bart Johnson received 419 votes and Cheryl Budge, 395 votes.

Carl W. Trussel won a two-year term with 575 votes and Mel Wood also won a two-year spot on the council with 444 votes. Also running in that race were Ty Swenson, 361 votes, and Donna Berkeley, 342 votes.
