Eleanor Elizabeth Ivins Green, 82, of Orem, died November 3, 1997 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo.

She was born November 28, 1914 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a daughter of Jo Jaques and Maude Alice Young Ivins. She married James Edwin Green January 1, 1947 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He died December 1, 1964.Eleanor worked as a legal secretary for Dietzen & Dietzen Law Office in Chattanooga. She was also a member of The Legal Secretaries Association. She served her country in the US Navy during World War II, as a Yeoman 2nd Class T. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in various callings during her life, including first counselor in the Primary presidency and as a visiting teacher.

Survivors include her children, E. Guerry and Elsebeth Green, of Orem, UT; Patricia E. Green, of Cleveland, TN; nine grandchildren, Lisa and Scott Tenney, Christa and Jay Bates, Adam Green, Sarah Green, Karen Green, all of Utah; and Shannon Dawn Green, Michael Coffey and Stephanie Coffey, all of Cleveland, TN; and a great-grandson on the way, Tristen Scott Tenney. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Jo Ivins, her infant twin daughters, Francis and Julia Green and a granddaughter, Anna Green.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November,6, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the North Ridge 4th Ward Chapel, 1750 North 150 East. Friends may call Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, and 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the services at the ward. Interment will take place at Camp Williams Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bluffdale.
