Margaret Maxine Nunley Clark Cross, 74, died November 2, 1997.
She was born June 9, 1923, to James A. and Lauver Osborne Nunley. She married Don O. Clark on Jan. 9, 1943, in the Salt Lake City, LDS Temple. She married James H. Cross on Aug. 1, 1973, in Provo, Utah. He died in 1995.During her first marriage, Maxine traveled the United States as an Air Force wife and had many interesting experiences and opportunities for service. When she moved to Provo, UT, she worked at Christiansens Furniture, Granite Furniture, and Nelsons Furniture stores. Maxine truly loved life. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed doing special things for them. Her thoughts were always of others as she served her community and church in many capacities wherever she lived. She will also be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her great generosity, and her love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and her testimony of Him.
Maxine is survived by one daughter, Ann Ohran (James), of Provo, UT; one son, Daniel O. Clark, of Tehachapi, CA; three stepdaughters: Jamie Cross, of Littleton, CO; Cindy Cross and Karen Swenson (Bob), of Orem, UT; one stepson, Stephen Cross (Cynthia), of Littleton, CO. Also one sister, Faye Acord, of Salt Lake City; two brothers: Jennis Nunley, of Milpitas, CA; Mike Nunley, of Salt Lake City. She had 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 7, 1997 at 10:30 a.m. in the Riverbottoms Chapel (Edgemont 19th Ward) at 300 West 4800 North in Provo (Orem Center St/4800 North Provo). Friends may call from 9 until 10:15 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.
