Lynn Adams will remain on the Santaquin City Council, having defeated his opponent, Roy Carroll, in a race for a two-year council seat.

Adams, who was appointed to the council several months ago after another councilman moved out of town, received 353 votes Tuesday, according to complete but unofficial election results. Carroll received 60 votes.Two other men were elected to serve four-year council terms: Frank G. Staheli, 300 votes; and Kirk L. Greenhalgh, 275 votes. Other candidates were Doug J. Rohbock, who received 171 votes, and David Hathaway, who received 92 votes.

Current Santaquin Mayor Keith E. Broadhead ran unopposed and will continue to serve in his position as mayor.

"I'm kind of excited and looking forward to continuing on with the council for the next two years and hopefully getting some things accomplished," Adams said. "Probably people have seen me in the council meetings and know a little bit more of what I've done to this point," he said.
