Voters overwhelmingly approved a $15 million general bond to build a new City Hall/public safety building and a railroad overpass.

By a vote of 79 percent in favor, they agreed to use a bond to pay for construction of the 61,000-square-foot building, to be located just west of the existing City Hall. That building will be retained for extra city office space.The remainder of the bond - $4.5 million - will be used to cover most of the cost of a railroad overpass on 200 South, which is now considered the second-most dangerous crossing in the state.
