Voters replaced incumbent mayor Howard Stoddard with Jay Ritchie in Tuesday's election, depriving the 71-year-old Stoddard of his third-term in the city's top post.

Ritchie, a former city councilman and manager for Geneva Rock Products, earned 690 votes to Stoddard's 370. Stoddard is a retired postmaster and the city manager. All results were complete but unofficial.Farrell Cook and Barbara Lang-ston will represent residents in the City Council's two open seats after defeating former councilman Ernest Millgate and Iola Murray. Cook received 605 votes and Langston, wife of late Councilman Doyle Langston, received 573 to Millgate's 483 and Murray's 431.
