WOMEN'S SOCCER: Tulsa took only four shots on goal, but it was all the Golden Hurricane needed for a 2-1 win over the Utes Wednesday at the WAC women's soccer tournament. Utah took 10 shots on goal, but only Jessica Narajowski could put the ball in the net.
With the loss, the Utes dropped to 9-11-1 while Tulsa improved to 11-7-2.
Brigham Young
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Goals from three players were all BYU's women's soccer team needed to shut out TCU 3-0 Wednesday in the first day of the WAC's soccer championship. The win improves the Cougars' record to 18-2 on the year.
Shannon Kimball put BYU ahead 1-0 in the 23rd minute of the game with a kick right in the middle of the net. Jennifer Love and Michelle Jensen were credited with the assists. Sara Reading and Ashley Monahan kicked a goal apiece in the first half for the shutout victory.
The Cougars play San Jose State today in one of two semifinal games.
Weber State
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Weber State takes the No. 2 seed into this weekend's first ever Big Sky Conference Championships in Missoula, Mont. Weber State (15-4-1, 3-2 BSC) finished tied for second place in the conference with Sacramento State and was given the second seed by virtue of winning the head-to-head match-up with the Hornets 2-1 in overtime on Oct. 26.

UVSC/SLCC WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Utah Valley State College nailed down the Scenic West South's top seed for next week's Region 18 Tournament with a 15-5, 15-13, 15-7 win Wednesday over 14th-ranked Salt Lake Community College.
The Wolverines upped their conference record to 7-1 and their overall mark to 30-10 to forge a tie for the league crown with the Bruins (7-1, 24-10). Salt Lake will host the Region Tournament Nov 14-15, but UVSC will be the top seed.
