On Wednesday, November 5, 1997, Arthur Wallace Youmans, born December 6, 1908 in Erie, Colorado, came to the end of his long mortal journey.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Beulah Hunt Youmans, his sons, Arthur WallaceYoumans Jr. and Richard Douglas Youmans, his daughter, Marjorie, E. Y. Partlow and his sisters, Mary, Margaret and Ruth. Also he leaves 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two much loved daughter-in-laws, a well loved son-in-law, and his beloved sister-in-law, Dorothy Youmans;also many wonderful nieces and nephews. He rejoins his parents and his five brothers in the world after this.Arthur began his career with the U.S. Weather Bureau in 1937 in Modena, Utah. There he met and married Beulah Hunt on June 18, 1938. After retiring from the Weather Bureau in 1971, with 34 years service, Art and Beulah made their home in Carbondale, Colorado, where they spent many happy years together. Arthur was an emeritus member of the Carbondale chapter of the Lions Club. He performed special wartime service for the Weather Bureau during both World War II and the Korean conflict.

Arthur was a man of responsibility, honor, commitment, service and love. His life exemplified these values. He will be missed.

A viewing will be held Friday, November 7, 1997 from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East. Interment, Highland Cemetery, Newcastle, Colorado.
