From rhythm 'n' blues to country, here are two of the bigger concerts coming up this next week.
- STEVE WINWOOD, the man who at the tender age of 15 sang for the Spencer Davis Group, will make a long awaited return to Abravanel Hall on Nov. 11. The music begins at 7:30 p.m.After playing in bands such as Blind Faith and Traffic, Winwood embarked on a solo career which peaked with 1986's "Back in the High Life" album, which sold more than 3 million copies. The follow-up, "Roll With It," landed at the top of the charts and spawned the singles "Do You Know What the Night Can Do," "Roll With It," which hit No. 1.
The singer's new album, "Junction 7," reaches even deeper into his rhythm-and-blues background.
- ALAN JACKSON was the Academy of Country Music's 1996 Male Vocalist of the Year. And Salt Lake City will get to hear him when Jackson makes his way to the Delta Center on Thursday, Nov. 13. The music begins at 7:30 p.m.
