A man on trial for murder said he shot at men waiting in their cars at a traffic light outside CIA headquarters and skipped women drivers because it was against his Muslim religion, an FBI agent said.
After the rampage that left two CIA employees dead and three other men wounded, Mir Aimal Kasi ate lunch from a McDonald's restaurant and bought a plane ticket home to Pakistan, FBI agent Bradley J. Garrett testified Thursday. The 33-year-old suspect gave a detailed confession to the Jan. 25, 1993, shootings while flying back to the United States, said Garrett, who accompanied him.
Kasi could get the death penalty if convicted of capital murder, the most serious charge he faces. Garrett was the final prosecution witness. Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Robert Horan was expected to rest his case Friday.
Kasi was a fugitive for more than four years before Garrett and three other FBI agents snatched him from a hotel room in Pakistan and returned him to this country in handcuffs and shackles.
