George Tenet went back to the place where his Greek immigrant father stood penniless decades ago.

The CIA director visited his hometown of New York to receive an Ellis Island Medal of Honor, an award he couldn't collect in May because of his confirmation hearing."It's a very emotional event for me," Tenet said Thursday. "My dad came here without a penny in his pocket. Nowhere else in the world could the son of Greek immigrants stand before you as the director of central intelligence," he said.
