Two 17-year-olds have been ordered to stand trial as adults on charges of attempted murder.

Jaime Parra and Andrew Jones, both of Payson, were bound over from Juvenile Court and appeared before 4th District Judge Ray M. Harding Sr. Thursday. Both teens are charged with attempted murder, a second-degree felony.Payson police said the pair were involved in a gang-related drive-by shooting on Sept. 27.

Early in the evening, Parra and Jones were at a Payson residence, where they had a disagreement with members of a rival gang, police said.

The pair drove away but came back later and fired several shots at people who were standing outside the house, prosecutors allege.

Police say Jones fired the shots. Both Parra and Jones are being held at the Utah County Jail on $50,000 bail. Both are scheduled to appear before Harding at a waiver hearing Nov. 21.
