Salt Lake police are looking for a group of men who took the wallets of three men and assaulted two of them in separate strong-arm incidents Tuesday night.

All the robberies took place during a 20-minute span, just after 6 p.m., in the same general area - northwest Salt Lake City.In all three cases a man approached the men in parking lots and either threatened them with a gun, or showed them a gun and demanded each victim's wallet, according to Salt Lake police reports.

In the first case, about 6 p.m. at 1306 W. North Temple, a man wearing a hooded, green sweatshirt approached the victim, pointed a gun at his stomach and demanded his wallet. The man gave him the wallet, and the gunmen got into a compact car where three other men were waiting.

Ten minutes later, a man approached another man who was leaving work, 787 N. Redwood Road, and said he had a gun in the pocket of his sweatshirt and demanded the man's wallet. The man didn't immediately respond, so one of the men waiting in the car got out and hit the victim in the head with a beer bottle, a report said. The man gave his attackers his wallet and they left.

At 6:20 p.m., a third man was attacked in the parking lot of Se Rancho Lanes, 715 W. North Temple by a man, whose physical description matched that of the man who robbed the other two victims. He was beaten and his wallet was taken, the report said.
