Jed H. Pitcher, president of Regence Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Utah, has been named chief operating officer of The Regence Group, an affiliation of Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies in Utah, Washington, Oregon and Idaho. The Utah company joined The Regence Group on Aug. 1.
Pitcher has been with Regence BCBSU since 1967. He will continue with his executive duties at that company concurrentlywith those in his new position with TRG.
As chief operating officer, Pitcher will be responsible for information services, will have a leadership role in determining the future of claims and membership services and will work closely with chief executive officers of other Regence affiliates to make the group an industry leader in information technology.
