Amy Yvonne Pettingill Loveland. Our loving, quiet, gentle wife, mother, sister and grandmother slipped away Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997 in Perry Utah.

Amy was born March 30, 1924 in Elba, Idaho to J. Basil and Inez Parish Pettingill. She had a wonderful life in that lovely valley. She attended Elba school and graduated from Raft River High School in Malta, Idaho. She worked in Salt Lake City, Utah making radio parts for airplanes in World War II and as a telephone operator before her marriage to her sweetheart, Ardel Holmes Loveland on June 14, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving in many areas including the Primary, as a visiting teacher and was currently a Ogden LDS Temple worker.The joy of her life was serving her husband, children and grandchildren, watching them succeed and do well in life. Amy had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Making afghans was her specialty and her pies were praised world round. She loved BYU and Utah Jazz ball games.

She is survived by her husband, Ardel, Perry, Utah, three children: Clinton (Julie), Brigham City, Utah; LeAnn, Blythe, California, VonDel (Jennie), Victorville, California, six grandsons, one serving a mission in Macon, Georgia, four granddaughters and she loved her four beautiful great-granddaughters. She is also survived by a brother, Lynn (Elaine) Pettingill, Twin Falls, Idaho and a sister, Donna (Thern) Ward, Almo, Idaho. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, a baby daughter, Amy and a grandson, Michael.

Funeral services will be Tuesday December 23, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
