A. Duane Marler, 67, passed away on Monday, December 22, after a valiant battle with a heart condition.
Dewey was born on June 9, 1930, in Lewiston, Utah to Loron Ariel Marler and Velma Haslam Marler. Dewey grew up in Salt Lake City. He graduated from South High School and attended the University of Utah. He was a partner in Marler Tire Company for forty years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Carolyn Heath in the Salt Lake Temple in September 1950. They were divorced later. He married Bonnie Griffith Noble on November 23, 1976. They have resided in Centerville, Utah for 21 years. Bonnie, the love of Dewey's life, has been a loyal companion and courageous caregiver. His family and friends honor and love her. Dewey was a tenderhearted and caring person. He worked hard and he played hard. He was a sports enthusiast and the game of golf was his greatest passion. Dewey will be deeply missed by all that know and love him. His mother preceded him in death.His survivors include his father, L. A. Marler; wife, Bonnie; children, Brad (Nancy) Marler, Carson City, Nevada; Scott (Ann), Houston Texas; Tamara, (Jack) Martin, Washington D. C.; M'Liss (Mark) Shurtleff, Sandy, Utah; step-daughters, Diane Perkins (Juan Argoitia), Centerville, Utah; Shauna Haacke (Stan), Bountiful, Utah; seventeen grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Inez) Marler, Mesa, Arizona; sisters, VonaVe (Clyde) Gibson, Tooele, Utah; Diane (Ronald) Hoffman, Bountiful, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may attend viewings at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, Friday evening from 6-8, and Saturday morning, 11-12 noon. Graveside services will follow at Bountiful Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.
