Mildred Hunter Cox, 86, passed away on March 8, 1997 of complications following a stroke.
Born March 21, 1910 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Clara Williams Hunter and Henry Perks Hunter. Married Fredrick Ashley Cox in the Salt Lake Temple on August 25, 1938. She was a professional chocolate dipper for 69 years and her homemade candies were treasured `gifts of love'. She served many LDS Church positions in the old Wandamere and Grant II Wards.She is survived by her daughter, Coleen Midgley Cox (Lee) Winward; Millie Ann Cox (Dick) Duffin; and son, Walter Lynn (Mari Lin) Cox; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, whose lives have all been touched by her care and kindness. Preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Tanya Jenille Cox; sister, Agnes Clara Hunter Jensen; brothers, Miles A. Hunter and L. James Hunter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 1997, at 12 Noon in the Grant II Ward, 3225 So. 700 East. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and at the Ward on Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Drive.
