Kenneth Pearson Hardy, our beloved father, age 85, passed away March 9, 1997 in Salt Lake City.

He was born August 6, 1911 in Salt Lake City, the son of Ernest Durston and Ellen Mary Pearson Hardy. On June 4, 1937 he married Margaret Kathryn Springer in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was an active member of the LDS Church. He loved to be involved in all different sports, from his youth to later in life, when he would enjoy watching others play. He worked at Municipal Arms Depot, where he was a Sargent of the guard. He was a salesman at Buehner Block for many years, and worked at the University of Utah before his retirement. He lived in the Forest Dale area for many years before moving to Holladay. He loved his horses, caring for them, and enjoyed spending many hours with his friend, Wilf. His friendships have lasted a lifetime.

Survivors: son, Kenneth (Brent) Hardy and wife Sherrie of Salt Lake City; daughter, Carole Hardy Healey and husband Roger of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Kelly, Greg, Brandon, Mathew, Nathan, Kevin, and Melissa; four great-grandchidlren; sister, Mary Walk of Salt Lake City; brother, Durston (Mary Lou) Hardy of Mesa, Arizona; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a son, Richard Keith Hardy, brothers and a sister.

Funeral services Thursday, March 13, 1997, 11:30am, Olympus 7th Ward Chapel, 4430 S. 2675 East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Wednesday 6-8pm and at the church Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.

Daddy would want us to give many thanks to the caregivers of Garden Terrace for making his final years more enjoyable, especially the ice cream parlor.
