LaVon Probst Shaw, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Monday, March 10, 1997.

She was born April 30, 1904 in Park City, a daughter of Edward A. and Margaret Watkins Probst.She grew up in Ogden, Utah and after high school attended Weber Normal College and Smithsonian Business College. She was a member of the Utah Pioneers, Camp Durfee where she had served as historian, captain and registrar. She was the recipient of the Red Cross Pin for Home Nursing.

She had been a member of the Ogden 8th Ward, the Eden Ward, the Liberty Ward and the Farr West Ward. She served in the different organizations within these wards. Moved from the Liberty Ward to the Ogden Canyon View 4th Ward in May of 1980.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Ronald J. Younger, Bountiful; William E. (Patrecia) Younger, Layton; June L. (Gale) Fuller, Eden; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother, Verba Bartway and Mary Little, both of California; Lewis G. Probst, Ogden.

Funeral services will be conducted by Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary and the Canyon View 4th Ward on Friday, March 14, 1997. Interment was in the Ogden City Cemetery along side her first husband.
