Freddie Lee Lathrop, born November 24, 1918 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, passed away March 27, 1997 in Cedar City, Utah.

Survived by wife, Margret LaRue Fowlks and four children: Mr. and Mrs. Judd (Lorrilie) Musser, Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. George Wayne Lathrop (Patty), West Valley City; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lathrop (Connie), South Jordan; and Ervin Lathrop serving in the US Coast Guard, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Georgia Demetree, Florida; and one brother, Henry Lathrop in Virginia. Preceded in death by his parents, George Willis Lathrop and Martha Caroline Moore; four brothers and three sisters.Married LaRue on 11 July, 1942, later solemnized their marriage in the Jordan River Temple on Oct. 19, 1981. Active member of the LDS Church, faithful High Priest and Home Teacher.

Fred came to Utah from South Carolina in 1940 with the CC Corps and was drafted and joined the Navy serving in World War II and Korea. He worked for Utah Poultry, Intermountain Farmers, Granite School District from where he retired and went to work for Allied Development till 1995 when he formally retired at the age of 77.

Good friend to all and was well loved by those who knew him, especially his family. He loved his family, loved the outdoors and camping. He will be missed very much by his passing.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1st at 1 p.m. at the Valley Park Stake Center, 2603 West 4700 So., Taylorsville, Utah. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Estates on 6500 So. Redwood Rd. and one hour prior to service at the church.
