Ralph Beesley, age 70, passed away April 24, 1997 at his home, with many of his loving family surrounding him. He had a short bout with bone marrow cancer.
He was born January 20, 1927 in Chapin, ID. He lived in Driggs, ID, Logan, Salt Lake City, and the last 40 years in Layton, UT. He graduated from Driggs High School in ID and Utah State College. Ralph taught 5th and 6th grades in the Clearfield area schools for over 33 years. He loved helping his students and he was highly respected and admired by his students and friends. He won several awards by the students choice.Ralph loved his family and friends. He will be missed by us all. He was a happy, kind, loving person, always looking for something to do for others. He was a member of the Dawson Hollow Ward, where he was a High Priest. He had served a mission in the Southern States Mission, he served three stake missions, was in the ward bishoprics, stake and ward Sunday School presidencies, High Priest group leader, temple worker and was presently serving in the library with his wife.
Ralph was very active in baseball, basketball, and some football, and camping. Lately he settled for watching it on TV.
He served during World War II in the Army Medic Corps.
Surviving are three sons and four daughters, Clifford Beesley, Velva, ND; Phillip Beesley (Clarin), St. George, UT; Mark Beesley (Carrie), Bloomington, ID; Shaunna VanderDoes (Jerry), Aurora, CO; Brenda Bench (Grant), Odessa, MO; Amy Dunford (Scott), VanCouver, WA; Angie Nalder (Eric) Layton; 25 grandchildren; also surviving, one brother and one sister, Vern Beesley, Weiser, ID; Myrna Schwabb, Joseph, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, 1997, Layton Dawson Hollow Ward, 2435 East 1550 North, with Bishop Douglas DeFries officiating. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 N. Fairfield Rd. and Monday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton.
