Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Hildred A. Foster, passed away peacefully, May 8, 1997 at the Wasatch Valley Rehabilitation Center.
She was born August 23, 1906 in Manassa, CO., the first of eight children born to Addie Maude Sowards and Robert Edward Lee Aycock. She grew up in Vernal, Utah, where as a young woman she played the background music for the silent movies at the Vernal Theater and taught school for two years. She earned her teaching certificate at Brigham Young University. Hildred and Ivan James Foster, were married Sept. 6, 1930 in the Salt Lake Temple.She is survived by her husband and four children, Marilyn (William) Wright, Robert Ivan (LuRae) Foster, Kathleen (Bill) Gehrke, Nancy (Russell) Warnick; two brothers, Kenneth and LaVerne Aycock; sister, Mary Schaefermeyer; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren.
Hildred served two full-time missions, one in the North Central States and later with her husband, in the West Australia mission. One grandson and two great-grandsons are presently serving missions. She spent her life serving others wherever she was called, mostly notably as ward organist for over 60 years and as Relief Society president.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, May 12, 1997 at the Fairmont Ward, 2465 South 800 East. Friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East and Monday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates, 7800 South 3115 East.
