A wise and loving mother who faced the trials of life with grace and dignity, Erma Mary Snowball Tanner Halladay passed away on May 8, 1997 in Murray, Utah.
We was born October 22, 1905 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Thomas F. and Clara Louise Schneider Snowball. She married Melvin Tanner on June 30, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away May 25, 1937. She married Chileon Halladay on July 30, 1952 in Salt Lake.Erma was active in the Democratic Party, American Legion, Lady Lions, Women's Club of Tooele, and several Tooele bridge clubs. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as secretary and treasurer of the Relief Society.
She is survived by her son M. DeMar Tanner and wife Merlene, Murray; daughter-in-law, Norma Leiter, Sacramento, California; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her two husbands; one son, Duane; two sisters, Pearl and Madeline.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 1997 at 12 noon at the Hillside Ward, 435 East 5600 South, Murray, Utah. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and one hour prior at the ward.
Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
