Wilma Mower, 75, of Orem, Utah, died May 8, 1997 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah.
She was born September 10, 1921 in Mapleton, Utah to Joseph Ashton and Mary Thomas Binks. She married Reece Arthur Mower, December 20, 1939 in Mapleton, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Wilma was raised in Mapleton and attended schools in Mapleton and Springville, graduating from Springville High School. During the early years of her marriage her family lived in the Springville and Mapleton area. Following her husband's employment they moved to Los Angeles, California in 1955. They returned to Orem, Utah in 1995. Wilma worked with her husband as co-directors of boys homes in California and Utah. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wilma served in most capacities of the various auxiliaries. She enjoyed crocheting and needle point.She is survived by her husband, four sons, two daughters, 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel, 211 E. 200 S., Springville, UT. Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. or Monday, one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
