All Jerry Seinfeld's quirky friends will return to the top-rated NBC comedy "Seinfeld" for next season, the network announced Saturday.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays Elaine, Michael Richards, who plays Kramer, and Jason Alexander, who plays George, will return for a ninth season. The three Seinfeld pals each demanded $1 million per episode from NBC to film 22 half-hour installments of the show, ranked behind only "ER" as the most-watched series this year.
The network did not give details of their contracts. An industry source who declined to be identified said the trio didn't get the $1 million per episode price tag, but offered no further details.
Each of the three supporting stars agreed to remain with the show for two more seasons. But Seinfeld only agreed to appear next season. He will wait until January to decide whether to return for a 10th season, the network said.
