Justen C. Selman's efforts to find a better way to shear sheep resulted in the formation of the Bear River High School student's company, Circle S. Fabrication, which builds sheep-trim stands.

For his efforts, Selman, Tremonton, received $5,000 in the governor's young entrepreneur contest, which honors students displaying the entrepreneurial spirit and contributing to the Utah economy. The contest is sponsored by the Utah Office of Education and the Utah Department of Community and Economic Development. After Selman developed his sheep-shearing stands, he designed and built special items for trailers, truck racks, Dutch oven supplies and other items while he was attending school.

Nathan Feltch, Vernal, a student at Uintah High School, received $3,000 for launching Millenium Computers, and $2,000 went to Brandon Checketts, Layton, a student at Northridge High School, who runs his own company called Microbits that provides computer upgrades and other services.
