Marvel J. O'Kesson George, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away May 8, 1997, after a lengthy illness.

Born January 17, 1909 in Salt Lake City, UT to Evelyn J. and Hyrum O'Kesson. She married Paul T. George on April 29, 1947. He preceded her in death March 8, 1992. He was the love of her life and she was his -- they are together again as they were meant to be.Mother was a peacemaker; she was loving, unselfish, and giving. She dedicated her life to making her family happy and loved us all unconditionally. She was compassionate and kind to both friends and strangers alike. She worked for ZCMI for 30 years, where she was a dedicated and loyal employee and made many close lifelong friends. She loved shopping and traveling. We will miss her and cherish our memories.

We are forever grateful to her angelic caregivers for their genuine love in caring for our mother these past five years.

She is survived by her daughters Patricia Sorenson, Karen (Glen) Elmore, and Pam (Mike) Sullivan; grandchildren Robyn Young, Christy (Randy) Forbes, Cathy (Rick) Lambourne, Jan, Laurel, and Jeffrey Elmore, April, Ryan, Jill, and Amy Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Travis and Cody Young; Nicole and Randi Forbes; Marti and Anthony Sandoval and Mollie, Brady, Luke, Amber, and Josh Lambourne. We are her legacy.

Cryptside services, 11 a.m., Monday, May 12, 1997 at the Wasatch Lawn Mausoleum, Everlasting Gardens. Friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive prior to services.
