Ralph J. Dickerson died Friday,May 9, 1997, after a short illness.

He was born April 28, 1912 to James and Alzina Knowlton Dickerson. Married Erma Bernice Rupp on Nov 6, 1934, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 63 1/2 yrs.Survived by his wife; son and daughters, David (Nancy) Dickerson, Lynnette (Mike) Sherman, Marilyn (Jerry) Jensen; grandchildren, Debbie Young, Rodney, Todd, Troy and Kerry Sherman, Amy (Sherman) Clark, Lisa,Jeremy and Colby Wilcock; six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; brothers, Donald and Edward (Ted) Dickerson; sisters, Grace Wagstaff and Donna West. Preceded in death by parents, son, Roland, daughter, Gloria, grandsons, Bob Dickerson, Michael Tye Sherman, brother, George Dickerson and sister, Ruth Barrus.

Ralph worked as a mechanic for Ab Jenkins World Record Car. Later he was foreman at the Tooele International Smelting and Refining. He retired at age 76 from Tooele Army Depot. He played guitar, banjo, bass fiddle, harmonica and accordian. He had many hobbies. He wove baskets and made willow chairs for his family and friends. Worked with wood and created many varieties of puzzles,wove rugs, made a doll house for his wife, wrote poetry. Planted a beautiful garden and shared many vegetables with friends and neighbors. Displayed a great sense of humor. Loved to play practical jokes and perform magic tricks. He was well-read and educated himself. Was a wonderful husband and father. He'll be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Funeral services 1 p.m. Monday May 12, at the 2nd-Clark Ward Chapel at 81 No Church St. Grantsville Utah. Viewing one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Grantsville City Cemetery.
