Elmo Eugene Stevens, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother andfriend, passed away May 8, 1997 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born October 23, 1913 in Wales, Utah to Barney E. and Mary Dye Stevens. He married Lois Linford on April 4, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving in the High Priest Group Leadership, as Ward Clerk, Executive Secretary and many other church assignments. He was a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. He was the drill master for the Salt Lake Police Palomino Posse and an officer of Petroleum Retailers Association. He was an avid golfer, tennis player and bowler.He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Judee (Rob) Foulger, Salt Lake, Sandra (Bob) Bennett, Carmel, Indiana; one son, Douglas (Janet) Stevens, Aurora, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margaret (David) Tobey, Mesa, Arizona, Bonnie (Paul) Mueller, Scottsdale, Arizona, Gwenn (Hal) Boehm, Big River, New York , Ann (Paul) Simmons, Salt Lake City; sisters-in-law, Helen Stevens, Bountiful, June Stevens, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by brothers, Lee and Charles Stevens and grandsons, Scott Stevens and Lucas Foulger.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 1997 at 12 Noon at the Highland View Ward, 2980 South 2790 East. Friends and family may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Tuesday one hour prior at the ward. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
