Rex T. Olsen,78, passed away of a heart attack while working at his home Friday, May 9, 1997.

He was born June 17, 1918 to Henry P. and Edna Shepherd Olsen. He was born at the farm along the Sanptich River where he spent his whole life working. He loved his farm and the animals he raised, but most of all, he loved his dear wife and family. He married Lula Jensen in Ephraim, Utah on June 11, 1938. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His greatest mark in life was the devoted care he gave to his brother Joseph P. Olsen and his son Boyd J. Olsen prior to their deaths and for the ever loving care he gave to his beloved wife for almost 20 years. He always helped out his neighbors, friends and family.Rex is survived by his wife, Lula, Mt. Pleasant; three sons and one daughter, Rex Don (Roleen) Olsen, Richfield, Utah; Bert H. (Carol) Olsen, Magna, Utah; Ted A. (Shauna) Olsen, American Fork, Utah; Edna Lou (Jimmy David) Olsen Neilson, Spanish Fork, Utah; one son preceded him in death Boyd J. Olsen. He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant 6th ward chapel (49 South State). Friends and family may call at Ursenbach Funeral Home (96 North 100 West, Mt. Pleasant) Monday, May 12, 1997 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
