Sonya Pepper, born December 25, 1906, in New York City, died May 10, 1997.
Sonya was raised in Ogden, attended local schools there and later graduated from the University of Utah. She married Dr. Milton Pepper in August 1929 and made her home in Salt Lake City, where she raised her family.She leaves her children, Gene and Marilyn Pepper, and Bea and Mel Bayer. She leaves her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mike, Cathy and Nick Pepper; Dana, Dave, Madeline and Nathan Borton; Tracy, Loren Kaylyn, and Brook Goldman, and Lindsey Anne Bayer; David, Fran, Mitchell, Jeremy and Eileen Bayer; and the late Brian Bayer. She also leaves her sisters, Sharon and Ida; and her brother, Edward.
She was a loving wife to her late husband, and caring and always thoughtful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She inspired her family and friends with her valiant independence and quiet dignity.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 12, at Montfiore Cemetery, 4th Ave. & "Q" Street. Funeral directors, Evans & Early.
