Louis Massa Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully May 10, 1997, in Price, Utah.

Born December 14, 1909, in Kenilworth, Utah, to Louis Massa Sr. and Margaret Milano. They later moved to Ely, Nevada, where his mother and sister Joanne passed away. Louis was raised by his stepmother, Mary Viara Massa, and Louis Massa on the Massa farm in Helper, Utah. Mary was the mother he knew and loved. He married Mildred Reese November 14, 1931, in Price.Retired member of the United Mine Workers of America, where he worked at Latuda and Kaiser Steel Coal Mines. Louis loved fishing, hunting and his garden of flowers and rose bushes.

Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mildred Massa of Price; daughter and spouse, Carol Sue and George Myers of Spanish Fork; grandsons, Randy and Melanie Myers of Fallon, Nev.; Mark and Sheryl Myers of Tucson, Ariz.; Grant and Sherri Myers of Spanish Fork; four great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Massa of Helper; sister and spouse, Edith and Karl Stavar of Helper. Also survived by many loving, caring nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Preceded in death by parents; three sisters, Joanne Massa, Jennie Massa, and Louise Mamanakis; brothers, Willie and Jimmy Massa.

Funeral services Wednesday, May 14, 1997, 11 a.m., Mitchell Chapel, where friends are welcome daily from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. The family will be at Mitchell's Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
