Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Angelo John Ravarino, 77, of Salt Lake City, passed away May 10, 1997.
He was born October 7, 1919, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Angelo and Matilda Cortella Ravarino. He married Joyce Shaughnessy on June 8, 1942, in San Diego, California. He graduated from South High School in 1936. He was a captain in the United States Army and served in World War II.He worked in the wholesale produce and trucking industry for many years. He was the owner of Ravarino Produce for 20 years. He was the produce expert on T.V. for 10 years until 1987. Angelo always said, "We have the best and others have the rest," His enthusiasm for the produce business was exceptional.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years; five children, Dan (Carol) Ravarino, John (Pat) Ravarino, Jim (Mary) Ravarino, Mary Kay (Todd) Erickson of Washington, and Carol (Jim) Wilcox. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his brother, Frank (Mary) Ravarino. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Ravarino.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 13, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Parish, 1975 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City. A vigil service will be held Monday, 7:30 p.m., May 12. 1997 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, Murray, where friends may call Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Committal services will be held at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
