The American Association of University Women of Utah presented Lynnda M. Wangsgard with the Distinguished Woman Award during the state convention in Ogden earlier this month.
She was the first woman appointed as a department head in Weber County government and developed and implemented personnel policies and procedures to promote gender equity. She has been a speaker on gender equity for local, regional and national conferences.During her 13-year tenure as director of the Weber County Library System, she has enlarged branches, constructed an additional branch, taken over bookmobile service and had the County Law Library placed under her direction. Wangsgard is recognized as an accomplished mentor and has given workshops on a formal mentoring process.
