Bobbi Myler looked for years for the child she gave up for adoption in 1966.

After a nationwide television show, "Unsolved Mysteries," profiled her story recently, her search was over just 37 minutes later. Her son's adoptive mother called.

"It looks like it was an all-around happy ending," Myler said. "She just kept saying, `I know this is your son, he has your eyes.' "

Myler became pregnant at age 15 and gave the child up for adoption when it was born in May of 1966 when she was 16.

Myler has been searching for her son since he turned 18, when she mistakenly believed she could have access to his adoption records. Then in 1993, Myler was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease that attacks the liver.

She stepped up her search, afraid that her son might also carry the disease. She appeared on other television shows and hired a detective agency.

No luck.

But this time was different.

"It was like all the forces in the universe were working together," Myler said.

Her son's adoptive mother just happened to spot the Myler story while flipping through television channels. She called because her son has been having medical problems that doctors have been unable to diagnose.

Others made the same connection.

At the "Unsolved Mysteries" phone center, Myler and the man's adoptive mother talked for about 40 minutes, and they both cried.

Then the son Myler had been searching for called into the show's phone center. He lives in Bountiful and is married, with two children.

They talked again the following day for an hour. "Unsolved Mysteries" made them promise that they wouldn't try to meet until the show could be there.

Myler won't disclose her son's name, citing a desire to protect his privacy.
