A block of residents were evacuated from their Taylorsville homes Saturday night when a car involved in a three-vehicle accident on 5400 South hit a house and broke a natural gas line.
Several residents near 5400 South and 2500 West were taken to Taylorsville High School, where they waited for Mountain Fuel to stop the leak, a Salt Lake County sheriff dispatcher said.Three vehicles collided in front of a house in the area. People involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.
Officials rerouted traffic in a two-block radius around the busy thoroughfare.
