Although best-known for his environmental causes, actor Robert Redford is lending his name to another type of preservation project in Provo.

Redford has joined with residents, businesses and government officials in an effort to revitalize the old Brigham Young Academy. Provo intends to remodel the building for a new library using a public and private dollars.Sundance will host a dinner and auction Friday, May 16, to raise money for the project. Musician and composer Kurt Bestor will headline the entertainment. Items up for bid will include work from artists such as Gary E. Smith and LeConte Stewart, weekend getaways, ski passes, Ballet West tickets, a Steve Young football and BYU football tickets.
