Fire-fighters found about 100 marijuana plants inside a burning home Tuesday morning.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire that burned a home at 3485 S. 3125 East just after 6 a.m. The Salt Lake County sheriff's narcotics unit is also investigating the fire, said Lt. Larry Marx."Right now we're not sure on the cause of the fire," said Marx, adding it may have been started by an electrical problem in the attic.
The house suffered water damage, and a hole had to be cut in the roof for ventilation, Marx said. No damage estimate has been set.
The home is owned by a San Diego couple, whom sheriff's deputies have not been able to reach. No one was home at the time of the blaze, and deputies are looking for the renters, Marx said.
