Harry Schardin Peckham, 71, died May 11, 1997 in Murray, Utah.
Harry was born June 5, 1925 in Sacramento, CA to Doyle Starr and Helen Katherine Schardin Peckham. He married Jackie Lorraine Mitchell on Sept. 7, 1946 in Taft, CA, which was solemnized on Sept. 15, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Harry taught school, teaching in Stockton, CA, at the Church College of New Zealand, and also taught at Cyprus High School. He served in the church as a bishop, high councilor, stake president and primary teacher. Served a mission with his wife to the Auckland, New Zealand Mission, and worked in both the New Zealand and Jordan River Temples.Survived by his wife; children: Cynthia Peckham; Kerry (Brent) Zimmerman; John (Susan) Peckham; Eric (Kim) Peckham; Jan (Jim) Phillips, David (Lori) Peckham; and Moana (Scott) Workman; 26 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Marian (William) Christensen. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ariana; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held in the Cottonwood 11th Ward, 1830 East 6400 South on Thursday, May 15, 1997 at 11 a.m. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, Salt Lake City and also at the church on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City.
