Garn Ray Woodall, Sr., age 75, passed away Friday, May 9, 1997, at his residence in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born March 31, 1922, to James Arthur and Edna Slaughter Woodall in Hinckley, Utah. Married Alice Louise Anderson May 25, 1934, in Salt Lake City.Garn was the General Manager of the Railroad Express Agency (REA) until his retirement. His special interests were fishing and hunting. He enjoyed railroad history, and loved traveling throughout Utah. He graduated from Hinckley High School and attended BAC in Cedar City. Garn held the State Track Record for the 440 meter.

He served in the 4th Marine Division during World War II in the Pacific.

Survived by his wife, Alice; sons, Garn R. Jr. (Pat), Larry (Pam), Brent (LuAnn); sisters, Ruth Davis and Bonnie Taggart; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Terry; brothers, Lawrence and Earl; sisters, Flora and Mary.

Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, May 14, 1997, 1:30 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-1:30 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy.
