Thanks to the support of philanthropists Dale and Adele Young, students in Utah State University's agricultural systems technology and education department now have access to state-of-the-art equipment.

The Dale and Adele Young Technology Laboratory in the ASTE building was dedicated Tuesday, officially opening the facility to students and faculty. Department head Gary Straquadine said the Youngs, graduates of USU and Brigham City residents, have been very generous with their support to the university."The lab will be used in our teaching and USU Extension programs, as an open access lab for our students, and for preparing research presentations," Stra-qua-dine said.

The project, made possible by the Youngs' $100,000 gift, includes Pentium-grade computers, LCD projectors capable of projecting images from a video player or computer screen, plotters, printers and a compact disk press. Stra-qua-dine added that one of the most important facets of the upgrade is that the new equipment and other computers are networked.
